what will be your legacy

Today’s Motivational Monday is a deep one. Do you ever feel like you’ve been called to DO MORE? Do you ever think about your LEGACY? ⁣I often think about mine and what imprint I want to leave behind. Of course, I want my children to be proud of me as a mom and have fond memories of our relationship. I want my husband to remember me as compassionate, affectionate, and dependable. I want my friends to remember me as reliable, caring and loyal.

But I also want to leave an impact on the world…leave a larger footprint behind, I guess. Some days I feel like I’m working towards that…and others I feel so self-consumed. ⁣Anyone else struggle with this imbalance? Tell me I’m normal. LOL

Understanding we are all only human, today I challenge you (and me) on this Motivational Monday to think about this topic. ⁣Whether we’re talking about a relationship with your children, your family, your friends or complete strangers, when you think about your goals, how do those goals impact the legacy you want for yourself?

Let’s write it down, shall we? Ask yourself these questions and write down your answers –

How do you want to influence the world today and after you’re gone? How do you want to bring about change in the world? Or in your community? What do you want people to say about you when you’re gone? When you think of legacy who comes to mind with a strong one? What makes you think that about them? It doesn’t have to be some grand proposition. But it can be! Nothing is too awe-inspiring when it comes to legacy! Go big, or go home. I’m here to tell you not to sell yourself short. What’s that saying? If you shoot for the moon…you may land in the stars? The stars are pretty awesome! Thank about that when you think about your legacy.

If thinking about legacy is a bit overwhelming at first, you can always start with a personal mission statement. Just start somewhere. Have a fantastic week!

XO, Christy
